Starting in September I will be working with the team at Water Lane to bring you a series of flower focussed workshops.
Water Lane is a stunning walled garden set around a collection of Victorian glasshouses just outside the village of Hawkhurst on the Kent/East Sussex Borders . It’s in one of these glasshouses that the workshops will be held, the perfect setting for a few hours working with the flowers lovingly grown on site and sourced from local growers. The programme covers everything from hand tied bouquets to styling flowers at home and as we move towards the festive season we will be hosting wreath making classes.
When you arrive for your class, one of the owners Ian will take you on a short tour of the garden to show you what’s in bloom and answer any questions you might have about growing your own flowers. We will then head up to the workshop space where I will have all of our stems prepped and ready to start designing with. You will leave with your creations and lots of tips that you can use when arranging flowers at home.
Most of the classes include a hot drink and something sweet but we would love you to stay for lunch in the restaurant, serving up delicious plates using ingredients grown on site. A two course lunch can be added to your booking and the table will be ready for you as soon as the workshop is finished. You can even use your arrangement to dress the table!
Classes are available to book for groups or individuals if you would like to book for a special event or reserve a whole class for a group please email hello@waterlane.net For these classes once we have finished teaching we will transform the workshop space into a private dining room, with all of your flowery creations used to dress the table.
